Walt Disney World Lounges

Have you ever dined at the Walt Disney World lounges? These casual spots don’t require or accept advance dining reservations, but are great options for a relaxed lunch or dinner. Lounge menus feature everything from appetizers and small plates to larger meals, in addition to a nice variety of wine, beer, cocktails and non-alcoholic mocktails. You’ll find lounges at the Disney moderate and deluxe resorts, as well as Epcot, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and Disney Springs.

Banana Cabana at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort

Banana Cabana at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort

Also serving as the bar for the Fuentes del Morro feature pool at Disney’s Caribbean Resort, Banana Cabana serves up a variety of island inspired dishes. Some favorites include jerk chicken wings, a Cuban sandwich and the popular Caribbean Pull-Apart Rolls. In addition, the menu at this breezy, outdoor spot includes salads, burgers, sandwiches and kids’ meals. You’ll feel transported to the islands while chilling with one of their tropical specialty drinks, with or without alcohol. Banana Cabana is currently open from 11 am to 10 pm.*

Cheesy BBQ Brisket at Geyser Point Bar & Grill

Geyser Point Bar & Grill at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

Another hybrid lounge/pool bar can be found at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. Geyser Point Bar & Grill overlooks Bay Lake with its peaceful views and cool breezes. Here you’ll find a variety of small bites, sandwiches and salads on the menu. Drink choices include specialty cocktails and a beer/wine list with selections from the Pacific Northwest. I recommend the Cheesy Barbecue Brisket with House Made Chips for a great, shareable appetizer or small meal. I also love the Finger Food Sampler for kids, which is a nice alternative to burgers and chicken strips. Geyser Point is currently open from 11am to 11 pm.* You may encounter a wait to be seated during peak mealtimes, however you can join the walk-up list on the My Disney Experience app when in close proximity to the restaurant.

Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar at Disney Springs

Indiana Jones fans will be thrilled to discover the props and Easter eggs in this laid-back, waterfront lounge. With signature drinks sporting entertaining names like Reggie’s Revenge or the non-alcoholic Poisonless Dart, Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar is a popular Disney Springs watering hole. However, don’t pass up the awesome variety of appetizers, tacos and flatbreads. In addition, our server offered a couple of kid-friendly choices not listed on the menu, so be sure to ask if you need something a little more basic. The hours here vary, however, it’s generally open from lunch time to late evening.* Weekends are quite busy, so visit early in the day or on weekdays to avoid waits for a table. Both indoor and outdoor seating is available.

Nomad Lounge Verandah

Nomad Lounge at Animal Kingdom

My favorite place for an afternoon break at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is Nomad Lounge, located next to Tiffin’s Restaurant. This lounge offers both indoor and outdoor seating and has become a destination unto itself due to the outstanding specialty cocktails and non-alcoholic mocktails.  You might even catch your favorite Disney characters floating by! The menu features appetizers and small meals, as well as some great Kids’ Create-Your-Own Selections with a variety of entrées and side dishes to choose from. The lounge is typically open from 11 am to park close.* There is a wait list to be seated much of the day, therefore, your best bet is to arrive at opening time or join the mobile walk-up list while enjoying nearby Pandora-Land of Avatar.
