When I first heard that Kouzzina was closing I was quite disappointed as I loved that restaurant. I wasn’t sure what Disney was going to come up with to replace it, but I knew that I would try it, and I was intrigued when I saw the menu for Trattoria al Forno, located on Disney’s Boardwalk. I was excited when I had the chance to try it on a recent trip.
The restaurant layout is still basically the same as it was before, you still go in the same doors and check in at the same place. The layout of the check in area has changed a bit, as has the décor. The interior of the restaurant is a bit different, but pleasant, with a lot of dark wood and it still has the wood oven, which makes delicious pizzas!
For the meal here, I decided to start with the Caprese Salad with house made mozzarella. I can never pass up a caprese salad, if I see one, I have to eat it. The house made mozzarella was really good and you get a large ball of it.
For an entrée, I split the Margherita Pizza with my husband. This was also really good. I’m fairly picky about pizza crust, but this was quite good.
When it came time for dessert, I opted for the classic Tiramisu. This one was an individual one, served in a glass, and quite yummy!
Trattoria has an extensive wine list as well as a varied cocktail menu. They even have an espresso menu, for guests who are looking for a special boost with or in place of their dessert.
I wasn’t quite sure what to think when I heard that Kouzzina was leaving, but after trying Trattoria, I’m thrilled with the new restaurant. I really enjoyed my meal and I look forward to having many more here!
