Top 5 Things to Do at Pop Century

You may think of a value resort as just a place to rest your head at night. But don’t miss these aspects of staying at Pop Century for your next vacation at Walt Disney World Resort. Whether you are having a resort day or looking for something to do at your resort during your mid-day break from the parks, here are the top five things to do at Pop Century Resort.

Take a Dip in a Pop Century Pool

With 3 fun themed pools around the resort, you can find one to cool you down in the Florida heat. Disney World pools are also heated in “cold” months, so this is a year round activity for you to enjoy.

The Hippy Dippy Pool is the main pool located directly behind Classic Hall and is in a large flower shape! It features a few flower-shaped water sprayers sprouting around the pool’s edge. Located close by is also a kids’ splash pad.

The Bowling Pool is one of the quiet pools and is located in the 50s section of the resort. This pool is shaped like a bowling pin and has fun props around the pool for you to discover.

The other quiet pool at Pop Century Resort is the Computer Pool. While more of a traditional shape for a pool, it has a keyboard pad that looks like it was made for Willie the Giant. It is located in the middle of the 80s and 90s sections.

Pop Century Lobby Display Cases

The lobby at Pop Century has shadow box display cases filled with classic items throughout the centuries represented. It’s like a mini museum! You could spend hours checking out these items. Try to spot toys you had as a child. It’s like a time capsule in each case. And to see the years each case represents look up at the top of the wall for the timeline.  Adults, tell your children or grandchildren the memories you have of these items to strike up a conversation. These experiences and subsequent memories will be uniquely yours!

Campfire and a Movie

Relaxing at the end of the day by making s’mores and watching a “Movie Under the Stars” is pure Disney magic. You can buy a s’mores kit or bring your own ingredients.

When you are done, have your own blanket or grab a towel at the pool to grab your spot to take in a movie on an outdoor screen. Grab yourself a snack or a drink and enjoy, because you know you will have already eaten your s’mores! For these activities check out the activity board for the times and what movies are playing while you are there.

Tie-Dye

This resort usually has a tie-dye activity on select days. While there is an extra cost for this, it is a fun activity and a unique souvenir for all that participate. If you think you might enjoy doing this activity, bring clothes that you don’t mind if you get dye on.

Photo Ops Galore at Pop Century

Pop Century

One of my favorite things about Pop Century is the multitude of photo ops! Each building and section has a theme related to the decade of that section. For instance one of the buildings in the 50s section has an extra-large juke box in the entrance area, the 60s a towering statue of Mowgli and Baloo from The Jungle Book, and the 80s section a larger-than-life Walkman. In addition there are other smaller figures peppered throughout the resort that make great photo ops like Goofy with a surfboard, Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head, and a mid-60s Corvette.

Fast Forward Arcade

Like all resorts on property, there is an arcade. At this resort it is called “Fast Forward Arcade”. Kids will love to spend time in this area. It’s great for adults too as you can find some classic games here. Note that this activity does have an extra cost.
