The BEST Breakfast at Walt Disney World, Steakhouse 71

Steakhouse 71 Entrance

One of my favorite meals on Walt Disney World property is the breakfast at Steakhouse 71 located on the ground floor at Disney’s Contemporary Resort right past the check in desk and is a must do on each trip for me and my family. From the amazing wait staff to the Floridian Eggs Benedict or Steak and Eggs to the Curios Cold Brew, this amazing breakfast will not disappoint.

One thing that I love about this restaurant is walking down the hallway from the lobby and seeing all of the behind the scenes pictures of when Disney was constructing the Contemporary and opening it back in 1971 hence the name of Steakhouse 71. This fabulous dining location took the place of The Wave and opened in October 2021.

Steakhouse 71 Hallway

Every time we visit Walt Disney World, I know that we are going to visit Steakhouse 71 for breakfast as our last meal before we hit the road home. Each time we have dined here we have had the great pleasure of having Eddie as our waiter and he is simply amazing.

From the moment you walk down the hall to the open lobby and bright dining room you definitely feel like you are transported back to the 1970’s with a contemporary but modern feel.

If you are wanting something lighter or just as a started for your breakfast they have Fresh baked breakfast pastries, fresh fruit plate or oatmeal

Steak & Eggs

Steak and Eggs

My daughters favorite thing to order here is the Steak and Eggs and she raves about it each and every time. The steak is always cooked perfectly and cut into strips and the eggs are so light and fluffy. It also comes with the breakfast potatoes which my daughter always takes to go so she can eat them on the road

Floridian Eggs Benedict

Floridian Eggs Benedict

My all time favorite meal on all of Disney property is the Floridian Eggs Benedict from Steakhouse 71 at the Contemporary. I would venture to say that I would drive down 8 hours just to have this meal. This twist on the Eggs Benedict has two amazing crab cakes with poached eggs and Hollandaise on top of toasted English Muffins. The crab cake is lump crap with not a lot of filler which makes it even better. This also comes with the breakfast potatoes.

Walt’s Prime Rib Hash

Walt's Prime Rib Hash

This node to Walt Disney himself is my wife’s favorite dish here with Prime Rib, Fried Potatoes, caramelized onions and peppers topped with a Fried Egg. This is yet another dish here that does not disappoint. This is definitely a hearty meal to enjoy and get your day started.

You Can’t forget about the Mickey Waffles

Mickey Waffles

Who can have breakfast at Walt Disney World and not have the Mickey Shaped Waffles? You can enjoy these with just a side of bacon, as some of my family typically does, or as part of meal.

Breakfast

Kids Choices

For the kids, they can choose from Oatmeal with cranberries, Mickey Shaped Waffles or Scrambled Eggs as their entrée and then they can choose from Sliced Apples, Breakfast Potatoes, Pork Sausage, Strawberry Yogurt or bacon as their two sides.

Beverages

Of course, for breakfast you have your normal selections of soft drinks, Joffrey’s coffee, tea, milk and juices but you can also get the famous POG Juice which is an amazing blend made of passion fruit juice, orange juice and guava nectar (this POG juice is also found at Tusker House in Animal Kingdom). If you want something a little stronger, they also have the Steakhouse Bloody Mary or my personal favorite, the Curios Cold Brew.

Curios Cold Brew

The Curios Cold Brew is an amazing way to start the morning, made with Maker’s Mark Bourbon, Joffrey’s Coffee Cold Brew, Maple Syrup and Vanilla Bean Cream but is not too strong.

Another great thing about this dining location is the close proximity to Magic Kingdom with only a short 10–15-minute walk or having the monorail available on the 4th floor which can then take you to the Ticket and Transportation Center so that you can then take the monorail to Epcot.
