If you haven’t had the chance to check out the new Disney Springs, you are really missing out! Downtown Disney has been transformed into the dining, shopping and entertainment area that is now Disney Springs. With new dining locations like the Polite Pig, Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’, D-Luxe Burger, PaddleFish, Blaze Pizza, Morimoto Asia and so many more, there is a dining location that will appeal to everyone. Also, if you love shopping, you can visit stores like Alex and Ani, Kate Spade, Uniqulo, and the World’s largest character store! Enjoy the live entertainment as you shop and dine to your heart’s content.
Miss Adventure Falls Now Open at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park
Miss Adventure Falls is the new family friendly raft ride at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon. This new attraction has guests board a four person raft for some wet fun. It is one of the longest attraction at the Disney water parks. Summer is a great time to enjoy all that Disney’s Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon have to offer. Consider upgrading your ticket to include the water park options.
Nighttime Fun!
While we enjoy touring the Disney parks and resorts any time of day, there is something a bit more magical about touring at night. Summer Walt Disney World Vacation park hours are extended and that means we get more twilight hours in the park. We love having even more opportunity to enjoy the twinkling lights, attractions in the dark, neon signs and fireworks!
Resort Pools
Every Disney Resort has great themed pools and summer is the perfect time for pool time. While the pools are always relaxing and wonderful, they are even more refreshing in the summer. We also find that we make ourselves plan times to really enjoy our resort pool in the summer. Some of our favorite resort pools are at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, Disney Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, and Disney’s Polynesian Resort.
Extended Hours at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
From May 27, 2017 until July 4, 2017, Disney’s Animal Kingdom is going to be open every day until 11:00 PM. It will be open for on-site resort guests to enjoy evening Extra Magic Hours from 11:00 PM until 1:00 AM! This means more park magic for the same price! That’s a great value for everyone! Make time to experience special evening safaris, the new Rivers of Light show, and Everest at night!
Pixar Live Concert Experience
For a limited-time guest visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios can enjoy The Music of Pixar LIVE! This concert event features memorable music from beloved Pixar films, and will take place three times a night beginning May 26, 2017. In addition, guest can purchase a dining package that includes reserved seating for one of the shows.
Happily Ever After – New Magic Kingdom Fireworks
Few words get us excited as the words “new fireworks.” Disney fireworks are always the perfect way to end the night and now we have the brand new fireworks show, Happily Ever After debuting at Walt Disney World Disney has promised that the new fireworks show at the Magic Kingdom will be the most spectacular fireworks show in history!
Star Wars at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
There is so much Star Wars fun at Disney’s Hollywood Studios this summer. You can see the fantastic Star Wars: A Galactic spectacular show. This show features projections, lasers and all your favorite Star Wars characters. Children can participate in Jedi Training and kids of all ages won’t want to miss Captain Phasma and her squad of Stormtroopers as they march up Hollywood Boulevard. You can also meet great Star Wars characters like Chewbacca and now BB8 in the Launch Bay!

I totally agree with the extended night time hours, traveling during the summer is worth it for that alone! We like to take a break mid-day and go back to the hotel to swim and snack and then head back to the parks later when it’s cooled down. One of our favorite things to do is be the last ones in the park so we can enjoy the music and lights with minimal people around. That’s when the park is truly magical!
