Palo Wine Dinner on the Disney Dream

Palo Wine Dinner on the Disney Dream

This past May, my husband and I took our tenth cruise on Disney Cruise Line. We’ve sailed on all four ships and were happy to be back on the Dream. One thing we’ve discovered over those ten cruises is that Remy and Palo are not nearly as busy on the first night of the cruise. This makes for an even more relaxed dining experience.

Because we have cruised with Disney many times before, we have also had the privilege of dining at Palo many times. My husband Tom refers to it as his favorite restaurant in the world.

This most recent time, we were having trouble deciding what to choose. Do you go with your favorites from the past or try something new? And then what wine to go with those choices?

Ultimately, we went with the choice that was a combination of old and new plus easy wine decisions for us. We decided to experience the Esperienza del Vino or wine pairing dinner for the first time.

You can find the menu for the Esperienza del Vino at Palo on the Disney Dream online, but it is subject to change. Because it is really a tasting menu, most of the courses are much smaller portions than the usual appetizers or entrees at Palo. The exception this time was the osso buco which really can’t be made smaller due to the nature of the dish.

We didn’t have two wines for this course. Rather, our wonderful server David from Hungary suggested that we save some of the wine from the third course so we could compare it with the wine for this course. So glad he suggested that!

The cost of the Esperienza del Vino or wine dinner is $59 per person. That charge is on top of the $30 per person fee for dining at Palo for dinner.

By the way, if there is something on the Esperienza del Vino menu that you would prefer to have while dining at Palo, you can request it. I plan on asking for the Tarfufo every time it’s available!
