Memento Mori- The new Haunted Mansion store!

memento moriLast week the new Haunted Mansion gift shop “Memento Mori” was in soft opening.  I was able to do some shopping after waiting online for about a half-hour on Friday afternoon!  The cast member manning the door told us there was a limit of 35 people in the store at a time.  He was letting people in through the door under the overpass in Columbia Harbor House as people left through the exit by the Haunted Mansion side.  It was certainly worth the wait!

As soon as I walked in, a cast member showed us a portrait that was available.  You go into a back room where your picture is taken, they do an overlay of a skeleton, which when complete you see your face which turns into a skeleton when you look at it from an angle, like a hologram.  Really cool, but kinda creepy!

There are many different types of artwork for sale including prints, posters, and plaques.  I opted for a wooden plaque with Madame Leota on it; it’s made of 4 slats of wood.

I found a nice selection of Jim Shore figures, bookends, busts as well as a few Christmas ornaments.  They also had some items that have been offered before like the jewelry box, gargoyle candelabra, hourglass, coaster & picture frame.

There were 2 rotating racks with jewelry, phone cases, magnets, antenna toppers, and key chains.  Many different varieties of men, women’s and children’s clothing were also available; t-shirts, sweatshirts, polos, ties, as well as many styles of hats!

There were many kitchen items available too!  From dishes to wine glasses, aprons to placemats.  There was something there for everyone!

The décor was creepy too!  A mirror was hanging on the wall that if you waited long enough a face would appear, look around, and then disappear again.  There was also a large portrait that glowed on and off.

This store was a huge upgrade from the Smuckers sponsored store that used to be there!
