The Disney Wonder has a new dining venue inspired by the animated feature “The Princess and the Frog”. This inspiration can be found in the decor, in the food, in the costumes and in the live music. The location was formerly known as Parrot Cay but has now been reimagined as part of the Disney Wonder’s extensive dry dock refurbishment.
The Disney Imagineers raised the bar with this restaurant as every element in the place is tied to the theme from the flatware, glasses and plates to the costumes, live music and characters. Although the restaurant has the same exact dimensions as before, the creative redesign has created more space for guest dining by moving the serving stations out to the far corners of the space. You will notice the additional elbow room as you peruse a completely redone menu full of Southern favorites. Cajun spices, Creole recipes and a touch of New Orleans will entice your taste buds.
The jazz trio/quartet play classic Disney tunes with a bayou flavor from a small stage at the back center of the restaurant. The kids and their parents have an open invitation to get up, dance and interact with the band. The scene is further enhanced by the appearance of Tiana herself along with Louis the jazz loving crocodile. Tiana and Louis move around the restaurant and visit and take pictures but do not go to all the individual tables. There is even a Mardi Gras inspired parade that will have everyone on their feet.
There is a definite buzz surrounding this “new” restaurant and the servers are as excited as the guests. They seem to love the music and lively atmosphere. This translates into more guest interaction and time with Tiana, Louis and the jazz ensemble.
You don’t have to be from Louisiana to enjoy this place. Whatever you do, leave room for the crispy beignets!
We just returned from sailing aboard the new Disney Wonder! Food service and selection was amazing- Tiana’s included. They went over the top to care for our MANY dietary needs and food allergies. I have images of the dining room menus (Triton’s, Tiana’s and Animator’s Palate) and photos of some of the entrees at Oh My Nosh
Glad you had fun! We love the Disney Wonder, she is our favorite and Tiana’s is such a great experience!
