The Fairfield Anaheim Resort: a Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotel

Fairfield Anaheim Resort

I’m very excited to say that I recently stayed at the Fairfield Anaheim Resort. This hotel is on the lower end as far as price. I have to admit, going in, I wasn’t sure if I would enjoy staying there. But the Fairfield proved to be a great choice. Check out the 6 reasons why I enjoyed my stay and would stay there again.

Fairfield Anaheim Resort

Location

One of the best things about Disneyland is that everything is within walking distance with both parks and Downtown Disney being a short walk from each other. With the Fairfield Anaheim Resort, now your hotel is also within walking distance to the parks and Downtown Disney. You are literally a 10-15 minute walk to the parks depending on how long it takes you to go through security. Plus, you are near many restaurants and businesses (including a Walgreen’s). You are literally in the heart of everything!

Value

This hotel is one of Disneyland’s Good Neighbor Hotels. To earn that designation, these hotels have to pass multiple inspections and offer certain amenities. This hotel is designated as a moderate hotel under Disney’s system. Which means these hotels offer amenities at a reasonable price. The Fairfield offers a lot for the price. See below for some of the amenities offered by this hotel. In addition, even the standard rooms can sleep 5 people in a room with the 5th bed being for children.. That is a huge money savings in a world where many times the standard rooms only sleep 4 people.

Room

Speaking of rooms, I stayed in one of the standard rooms. But there are also special themed rooms and a junior suite (with 2 queen beds and a sofa bed) available at this hotel. The standard rooms are 228 square feet and are modern and updated. They also make good use of the 228 square feet. Included in that space are 2 queen beds, 1 sleeper chair, dorm size fridge, desk and big screen TV on a console. You also have a split bath with bath/tub combo and toilet in one area and separate vanity area . That vanity area is combined with the closet area as well as a coffee station on top of the dorm size fridge. You even have a laptop size safe in the drawer under the coffee station. The entire bathroom/closet area can be separate form the main room with a sliding barn door. There is also storage underneath the vanity, shelves on the wall over the vanity, hanging and floor space in the closet area. You will also find drawers in the end table between the beds and under the bed storage. For even more storage, check out the 4 very deep drawers that are part of the TV console.  The beds are very comfortable and the heating and cooIing system works well. The only downside is that the rooms open to the outside instead of an interior corridor. We were 2 women traveling alone but didn’t feel unsafe.

Food

While this hotel doesn’t have an on-site restaurant, they do have an area where you can purchase snacks and drinks and they are located near many restaurants and fast food places. Of course, right in front of the hotel is a Panera restaurant. Then within a 5 minute walk we found a McDonald’s, TonyRoma’s, Denny’s, Cold Stone Creamery, IHOP, a couple of Mexican restaurant and Pizza Press, a delicious pizza place–be sure to also try the cheesy bread! These are just some of the options in the area so be sure to set out and explore to see what you can find.

Amenities

This hotel came with a few amenities as well. There was a gift shop that had some really unique merchandise (I even saw some Butter Rum Lifesavers, which I haven’t seen in forever) as well as Disney merchandise . If you are looking for a place to work out, they have you covered with a nice assortment of options including workout machines, free weights and exercise balls. They also include towels and a water bottle fill station as part of the fitness center.  Want to have a little bit of a different workout, be sure to check out the arcade! You can also purchase theme park tickets in the lobby and if you need to print a boarding pass for your flight, they have you covered with a business center in the lobby. Need some cash for tips for the amazing employees of this hotel, check out the hotel’s ATM in the lobby. For those wanting to stay connected, WIFI is available.  There are even coin operated washer and dryers available. If you are thinking more of just plain relaxing, there is an outdoor pool with hut tub and restrooms.

Little extras

There were so many little extras at this hotel that made our stay extra magical. When we arrived in the lobby, there was someone there to take our bags, wait while we checked in and take them to our room. I was not expecting this service at a Fairfield Inn! I also found a designated area with microwaves and toasters on the 3rd floor for people to dine or just relax, another surprise. In the lobby, there is a small market area with food and drinks (as mentioned above) but there is also a small area with a few tables where you could sit and enjoy your purchases.  My two favorite extras had to be a seating area that overlooks the lobby (and the amazing Mickey statue) and then this amazing sight pictured below that I found on a different floor. Talk about extra magic!
