The Land Pavilion in Epcot

“Let’s listen to the land we all love,
nature’s plan will shine above,
listen to the land, listen to the land.”

If you’re like me, you didn’t just read the above paragraph, you sung it in your head! Those are the infamous lyrics to “Listen to the Land” which was a part of the original “Living with the Land” attraction. It opened in “The Land Pavilion” in Epcot in 1982!

I think a lot of times, “The Land” pavilion in Epcot is overshadowed by its famous attraction, “Soarin.” Did you know that “The Land” pavilion is almost 6 acres, making it the largest pavilion in Future World! Let’s spend some time exploring all that “The Land” pavilion has to offer!

Entering the Land Pavilion

Let’s begin at the outside of “The Land” pavilion. Architecturally, it’s beautiful! The building is very noticeable from far away. Have you taken the time to really look at the mosaics in the sign and on the outside of the building?

When you enter the “The Land” pavilion, immediately you should see the beautiful hot air balloons floating towards the ceiling.  Did you know each balloon represents a different season?

As you head to your left, there is the new movie called “Awesome Planet.” The film in this location as been replaced in many times, most recently in 2020. “In a partnership with the Disney Conservation Fund, this all-new film uses in-theater effects (including wind, scents and water) to tell the story of life on our planet and why it’s vitally important to care for it.”

Garden Grill- Table Service Restaurant

Before you head downstairs, don’t miss The Garden Grill restaurant! The menu is served family style. It actually is a revolving restaurant! The menu has evolved end changed since reopening in 2020. It still is a character meet and greet with Chip and Dale, but it is slightly modified. Check out this dining review from September 2020 after the reopening of Walt Disney World! One of the best parts of this restaurant is being able to overlook the “Living with the Land” attraction. My favorite part to overlook is the farmhouse scene! What’s yours?

Attractions in the Land Pavilion

As we head downstairs, at “The Land” pavilion, you will find the “Living with the Land” attraction, Sunshine Seasons restaurant and “Soarin.”

Living with the Land” is a relaxing boat ride that takes you through the green houses inside of Epcot! This boat ride teaches guests about ecosystems and living off of the land. This attraction should not be overlooked! While you are in the queue, don’t forget to check out the murals on the walls. They contain quotes from people around the world about the environment. Guests of all ages can enjoy this attraction! You can view fruits and vegetables in unique ways as well as learn about horticulture. See how many hidden Mickey’s you can find throughout this attraction!

As you make your way towards “Soarin’,” you can’t pass up the opportunity for the “Behind the Seeds Tour!” Guests can go behind the scenes in “The Land” Pavilion! You’ll be able to walk through the greenhouses and learn more about conservation inside Epcot. It’s about an hour long and is fairly inexpensive! Check out this blog to learn more!

Finally, we’ve made our way to the headline attraction, “Soarin’ Around the World!” This attraction debuted in 2005 as “Soarin’ Over California.” It’s a ride simulator ride that actually looks like an old erector set! Guests feel like they are hang-gliding while soaring over popular destinations all over the world! For example, some of my favorites include Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany, and The Taj Mahal in India. What’s your favorite scene in the new version of the film?

Sunshine Seasons- Quick Service Restaurant

Sunshine Seasons is a quick-service restaurant that offers many unique, healthy menu items. Some highlights include the Power Salad with Chicken, and the Oak Grilled Rotisserie Chicken. There’s plenty of seating to enjoy your meal!

Next time you visit Epcot, be sure to spend some time in “The Land” Pavilion, to check out the details and everything that it has to offer!
