My husband, Charles, and I took a long weekend trip to Walt Disney World during Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival. Since this was a quick trip, we decided to stay at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort. I put in a room request for a first-floor room in the Touchdown! section of the resort, and we must have had some pixie dust because we got our request! Once we entered our room, we discovered we had a room with a King Bed too!
All-Star Sports is one of three All-Star Resorts. As you enter the All-Star Resort complex, it is the first All-Star. The theming of All-Star Sports is self-explanatory; the resort is filled with larger-than-life sports icons! There are five sections of Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort: Center Court, Hoops Hotel, Surf’s Up, Touchdown!, and the Homerun Hotel. If you book a Preferred Room at this resort, you will end up in the Surf’s Up section. Keep in mind, that the Touchdown! section of the resort is adjacent to Stadium Hall (food court and main lobby), so if you book a standard room, you can request the Touchdown! section of the resort. Keep in mind, that Disney can not guarantee room requests, but they try to adhere to any request that comes in! The Mouse For Less has a great All-Star Sports Resort Guide found by clicking on this link!
There are two pools at All-Star Sports Resort. The Surfboard Bay Pool, the main pool, is located right outside Stadium Hall and the Surf’s Up section. The second pool is located in the Homeroom Inn section of the resort. This pool is themed like a baseball field. Located outside this pool, are stadium seating benches which are really cool! This area looks amazing at night!
Getting to the theme parks is easy at All-Star Sports Resort! Access to Disney transportation is located at the front of the resort outside of the main lobby. There is a sign with the name of the park at each bus stop. It took us, on average, about 30 minutes to get to The Magic Kingdom, about 25 minutes to get to Epcot, 20 minutes to get to Animal Kingdom, and 15 minutes to get to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Always allow at least 90 minutes to get where you need to go on the Walt Disney World property, just in case!
There are three dining options at All-Star Sports Resort. The End Zone Food Court is located in Stadium Hall. Here you can find tons of different dining options! From chicken breast nuggets to a turkey sandwich, there is something available for everyone! You can check out the menu, here! Pizza delivery service is also available at this resort, as well as snacks at the Grandstand Spirits Pool Bar.
Overall, we had a great time staying at All-Star Sports Resort! We definitely would stay here again. This resort is a great value for guests. For more information about All-Star Sports Resort, you can view the resort guide from The Mouse For Less!
