Staying at multiple resorts during a single vacation may seem a bit overwhelming! On our most recent vacation, my daughter and I stayed at three different Disney resorts and found it very simple to move from resort to resort.
We started preparing for the resort switching at home. We bought 2 sets of packing cubes from Amazon. The set comes with 3 sizes-small, medium, and large. This worked out great for us as we were staying at 3 different resorts. We packed our clothes for the longest stay in the large cube, the three-day resort stay in the medium cube, and the one night stay in the small cube. We also had toiletry bags for each of us as well as a charger bag for all our electronics!
We had our suitcases packed with our packing cubes, our Magical Express tags on and we were ready to go! We did curbside check-in at the airport, so the next time we would see our bags would be in Walt Disney World!
We checked into the Contemporary Resort which was number one in our vacation! After we checked in we went to the park for a while and when we returned, our bags were in the room. We unpacked the large packing cubes, put our toiletries in the bathroom & we were good to go for our 4-night stay! We left the packing cubes out in the closet and repacked it with our dirty clothes every night, so on check out day, we were ready to put the packing cubes back in the suitcase and move on to our next resort.
The transfer of our luggage was really easy too! We took our luggage and carry-on bags to bell service in the lobby of the Contemporary. I told them we would be checking into the Pop Century Resort. I let them know I had computers and iPad’s in my bag, so they would take extra care with them. They gave me a tag and we went to the park for the day.
After we checked in at Pop Century we went to the bell service area, I gave them my ticket and they gave me my bags. We went to the room, unpacked the medium bag, toiletries and we were good to go!
It was a little different for our last resort. We checked out of Pop Century, brought our bags to bell service, and let them know we would be checking into the Grand Floridian. We got our ticket and again went to the park for the day. When we checked into the Grand Floridian, we went to our room and called bell service to let them know we would like our bags. Within 15 minutes our bags arrived and the bell service attendant brought them into our room. He came into our room, got the luggage rack out of the closet, and set up our suitcase at the foot of our bed. He asked us if we would like him to fill our ice bucket or needed anything else, but we were fine.
The trip went smoothly and it was very easy to transfer our bags from one resort to another. We did tip the attendants when we dropped off our bags and when we picked them up. We tipped the attendant at the Grand Floridian a bit more since he set up our luggage and went over the top to make sure we were comfortable!
So with a little pre-planning, 3 resorts in one week can be done successfully! I highly recommend the packing cubes for a trip like this. We didn’t have to take everything out of our suitcases and when we got home, we emptied the cubes into the laundry basket and packed them away for our next trip!
