The Walt Disney World® Resort will release a new reservation booking system for dining, recreation and tour reservations in late October 2008. The new reservation system will replace our current Dining Reservation System and will allow you to book multiple dining reservations for your Clients in one experience, while associating reservations to your Clients’ Walt Disney World Resort room reservations.

In the future, Travel Agents and Guests will be able to make dining reservations online at with this new reservation booking system. The launch date for this enhancement will be announced at a later date.

As a result of the system upgrade, effective July 29 through late October 2008, Guests will be able to book dining reservations up to Jan. 25, 2009 arrivals. In late October, booking processes will return to normal, allowing Guests to book up to 180 days of arrival.

The system upgrade will not impact Victoria and Albert’s Restaurant, Cinderella’s Royal Table, and Chef Mickey’s Restaurant. Those three venues will continue to observe the normal booking processes throughout the system cutover.

Thanks to a new Disney WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) site, adults and their kids this summer can immerse themselves in the magic of Disney's Typhoon Lagoon and Disney's Blizzard Beach water parks before, during and after they actually visit -- and all it takes is their cell phones.

Thanks to a new Web site customized for the mobile phone, users can download any of four exclusive wallpapers from Toyko-based, avant-garde artist Jesse LeDoux. Also featured: insider tips, an interactive personality quiz and more. Another highlight stars actor-singer Corbin Bleu, famous for his role in the Disney Channel's hit "High School Musical" films.
How to get the fun rolling? Guests have several options:

In their Disney Resort hotel room, guests can view a video and text H20 to SPLASH (775274). Then their cell phone rings with a message from Corbin Bleu, plus a link to the WAP.

Before arriving, guests can text H2O to SPLASH on their cell and get a call from Corbin.

Guests familiar with texting on their cell phones can send a picture of their favorite attraction at the water parks to disney@splash.com to receive a special mobile wallpaper.

Guests can access a number of interactive features including tips to "surf" Disney's Typhoon Lagoon or "ski" at Disney's Blizzard Beach. Other great tips for park-goers can be downloaded onto guests' cell phones.

Important Changes to Downtown Disney Area
at the Walt Disney World Resort

Walt Disney World® Resort wants to share some important news about Downtown Disney® Pleasure Island. All the nightclubs on Pleasure Island will close after Sept. 27, 2008. So beginning Sept. 28, 2008, the Water Park Fun & More Option will no longer include admission to the Pleasure Island nightclubs.

A new choice is available for guests. Now, you may choose to use a visit to play a round of golf at Disney's Oak Trail Golf Course, a relaxed, nine-hole walking course. Of course, you can still choose to use a visit for admission to Disney Water Parks, DisneyQuest® Indoor Interactive Theme Park or Disney's Wide World of Sports® Complex.

This news is part of a bold new vision for the Downtown Disney area, including extraordinary new shopping, dining, numerous enhancements and a completely re-imagined Pleasure Island.

Over the next year, the 120-acre entertainment-shopping-dining complex will add a number of one-of-a-kind, immersive experiences for your Clients to enjoy. The Downtown Disney area will even get its own iconic attraction — a giant, tethered balloon that will take you 300 feet into the air to view the amazing vistas of Walt Disney World Resort.

Other new experiences include:
o In fall 2008, you will enter a world of prehistoric creatures at T-Rex: A Prehistoric Family Adventure. The dinosaur-themed eatery will serve up pizzas, pastas, seafood and more amid life-size dinosaurs, geysers, waterfalls and a fossil dig site.
o Also this fall, a design-your-own t-shirt store from Hanes will add to the growing collection of merchandise your Clients can personalize.
o E-brands Restaurants will premier its newest concept in spring 2009. The casual eatery will feature authentic Central and South American cuisine and live music along the waterfront.
